Phi Phi Islands Krabi are located in Thailand. There are situated between Andaman Sea and Phuket islands. Its administratively is Krabi province. Phi phi islands are one of the largest groups of islands. First population were a Muslim fisherman’s, later it was a coconut plantation. Also today is more than 75 % of Muslim population. It is considered that this area is one of the oldest communities in Thailand. The name Phi Phi is pronounced “pee pee”. The origin of this name originates from Malay. The name refers to Fiery Tree – Grey Mangrove. This grey mangrove is all over the islands. There are included in national park in 1984. There are six islands that makes group Phi Phi. This islands are home of rich coral and marine life. The cliffs are from limestone, you can found a caves and long long white beaches. Phi Phi Le and Phi Phi Don are the most known and largest islands of the group. Climate is tropical with just two seasons: hot and rainy. Interesting about rain is that comes down heavily.
