Hvar is a island in Croatian Adriatic Sea. A beautiful little island with lots of hills and pine forest all around the island. Among that it is full of olives groves, vineyards and lavender fields. Hvar has very important history to Croatia. In Hvar are born some of the greatest Croatian writers such as Hanibal Lučić and Petar Hektorović. In Hvar you can enjoy in long promenade around city that once was a fortress. Hvar is infused with narrow streets which can be very interesting for tourist who came for the first time. Square St. Stephan is one of the largest squares in Dalmatia. Also on the square is located Cathedral of St. Stephan and the oldest theater in Europe and the smallest also the Renaissance theater. All Hvar is decorated with ceramics spiral ornaments. Also one of the most interesting thing about Hvar is Hvar lace which are made by nuns in Benedictine monastery. Hvar is very beautiful and interesting and you will enjoy for sure.
